Have something bad to say about someone? Then you’re a terrorist! Seems that the current Pope is taking a page out of George W. Bush, and taking it to levels only possible to religious fanatics.
“The Pope says he doesn’t believe in evolution. I agree, in fact the church has never evolved,” he said. He launched into a routine about the church’s denial of a funeral to Piergiorgio Welby, a muscular dystrophy sufferer who decided to have his respirator switched off in December.
“I can’t stand the fact that the Vatican refused a funeral for Welby but they didn’t for Pinochet or Franco,” he quipped.
The Church immediately branded his comments as terrorism, since they claim that they’re meant to stoke blind and irrational anger against the Pope. I can’t say I’m surprised, considering that they think women owning their own bodies is also terrorism and that a legal union between people of the same sex is evil, but still one would expect that by this point they have learned that if they just make a big stink about something, they’re just giving it free publicity.
