The world as we know it

January 27th, 2006

So the White House wants to pass a law that basically amounts to legalizing the illegal espionage they’re conducting on their own citizens.

Bush told a White House news conference that the domestic spying program “is designed to protect civil liberties” and declared that “it’s necessary.”

Funny how they have to break your rights in order to protect them. It’s like those husbands who only beat their wives because they love them.

On other news, the world just got a lot more interesting (and by that I do mean Oh god, Oh god, we’re all gonna die). What do you do when you promote democracy as a silver bullet, and then it turns out that those democratically elected are people you don’t like?
