For those wondering about Gigabyte’s tech support, I still haven’t heard back from them.
I was unable to test the motherboard with Esteban’s Athlon processor, since it was an Athlon XP and my cretacean GA-7ZXR is only the first revision (thus XP-less). Considering other things, however, like the fact that the motherboard is beeping and behaving differently in various circumstances, I’m inclined to think that the main issue is the processor and not the MB itself.
Which leaves me with the pickle of finding an old-fashioned Thunderbird and sticking it to the ‘board, hoping that’s the case.
Unfortunately, it seems that only about four of us bought Thunderbird in Costa Rica way back when, so it currently looks like I’m going to have to find a processor online and pay for my sins.
I still have internet access (obviously) in the form of the machine I use for work, but if you want to contact me for personal things, it’s much better if it is through unencrypted e-mail.
