So the Gigabyte manual has been pretty useless, since it has no troubleshooting section whatsoever. Thank Azathoth for Google, however, since I was able to find this great list of AMI BIOS beep codes.
Lacking - as I currently am - a response from Gigabyte, I’ve decided on the following course of action:
- Start switching around the memory DIMMs, to make sure that it’s not them who are causing the issue.
- Test with new DIMMs, in case both were fried.
- Setting back my old processor fan, in case the motherboard is not recognizing the new one as valid.
- Getting an Athlon on a loan from a friend, try to see if it works with a different processor.
- Give up altogether and get a new motherboard on e-Bay.
Bloody pain in the neck, is what it is.
