Tá ta, New Orleans

Posted on Thursday 1 September 2005

And off goes New Orleans, without me ever going to Mardi Grass (which nowadays depended directly on the U.S. stopping their fingerprinting non-sense).

Marginal Revolution has a great post on why didn’t more people leave town, discussing how many seem to have relied on a government that failed them. Jacqueline Passey relates that people have been pointing out that a disaster was coming for a while now. And finally, on AP news, black people loot while white people find (a bit that I also got from Jacqueline).
