Rules before marriage

I keep telling my friends these three simple guidelines for surviving marriage, and nobody ever listens. One would imagine that after watching you bleed while you learn, they would save themselves the pain of learning on their own.

1. People don't change, they just get older. The worst mistake you can make is think nah, she'll outgrow that.


2. Before getting married, picture yourself married to her mother. That's what she will become.


3. Don't assume you know somebody with whom you haven't lived for a period of at least six months.

Not that you asked, I know. Kind of like my friends.
